ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The CCRMP Certificate Program is designed to serve as an overview and introduction to current cyber security issues, threats, risk estimation, risk mitigation strategies, and economic considerations specifically related to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Current examples of research, open-source materials, laws, regulations, standards, policies, and other resources are reviewed, with attention given to UAS autopilot, command and control (C2), ground control station, data encryption and data links, and other related systems and components. Participants will also engage in hands-on remote lab activities leveraging a Pixhawk 2 Blue Cube and carrier board, which will be provided for use during the course and may be kept following its completion.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  1. Explore current applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies related to UAS with special attention given to cyber security implications.
  2. Discuss and assess UAS cyber security issues and threats including past and current UAS related cyber-attacks or vulnerabilities.
  3. Explore UAS cyber security risk estimation, risk mitigation strategies, and economic considerations.
  4. Identify UAS cyber security enhancement resources and tools, including those from academia, industry, and government sources.
  5. Assess financial and economic issues related to maintaining trustworthiness in UAS as cyber-physical systems.
  6. Categorize the information system and information processed, stored, & transmitted by that system.
  7. Select an initial set of baseline security controls for the system, based on the security categorization.
  8. Implement selected security controls and describe how the controls are employed.
  9. Assess security controls using appropriate assessment procedures to determine the extent to which the controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcomes for meeting the system’s security requirements.
  10. Authorize the information system operation, based on a determination of the risk and the decision that this risk is acceptable.
  11. Monitor continuously the security controls in the information system.
  12. Manage the risk exposure of on-premise systems by assessing the boundaries between on-premise and cloud-based systems.

Yes. The non-credit, part-time certificate program is designed for working professionals who are actively pursuing a career change or career advancement.

The program is part-time. Students will complete the program in about four to six months.

The only requirement is that you are at least 18 years of age and have earned a high school diploma or GED. While some background is beneficial, no experience in Cybersecurity is required. Our pre-course tutorials will help you prepare for our program.
